  • Whole Health NWC is a 100% telehealth practice. All visits are conducted by video chat or phone.

  • You may cancel or reschedule an appointment free of charge up until 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time. If you decide to cancel your appointment for any reason within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time, you will be charged a $50 non-refundable, cancellation fee. We will document this charge so it can be used as credit towards a rescheduled appointment with a non-negotiable expiration of 30 days after the original scheduled appointment. The $50 credit will be applied at the time of service of the rescheduled appointment. No call, no shows will be charged the full price of the visit without eligibility for refund or credit.

For acute visits, our cancellation policy is slightly different. Cancellations are permitted up to 1 hour before a scheduled acute visit, free of charge. If you cancel within an hour of your visit, you will be charged a $25 non-refundable, cancellation fee. No call, no shows will be charged the full price of the visit without eligibility for refund or credit.

  • After scheduling, you will be sent a welcome email. This email will instruct you on the necessary steps before attending your first appointment. You will need to fill out both the intake form and consent form provided in the email. This welcome email will contain the link to your virtual visit. You will receive a second email with information on how to access your patient portal. Please fill out the past medical history questions within the portal. All forms need to be completed 48 hours prior to your visit so Dr. Poy is able to properly review them. If you have any questions, please call our office at 814-299-4662 and Dr. Poy will gladly walk you through the process before your initial visit.

  • Return visits will be determined on a case-by-case basis during your first appointment. Most patients will be asked to schedule their follow up visit 6 weeks after their initial visit to track progress and make adjustments to the plan as needed. If labs are ordered during the first visit, return visits are often scheduled once lab results come back.

  • Everyone is different. Some patients see improvement after just 1 visit together. Significant improvements typically occur around 3-4 months after plan recommendations are implemented. If you are not seeing improvements after 1-2 return visits, plan recommendations will be adjusted accordingly and further testing may be advised.

  • Not at this time. However, Dr. Poy can coordinate with your family doctor and other specialists to make sure you are receiving the best care possible.

  • Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are trained as primary care doctors. NDs attend an accredited 4-year naturopathic medical school that involves training in how to diagnose and treat acute and chronic disease. NDs receive hands-on clinical training managing hundreds of patients under the supervision of licensed medical providers. Additionally, NDs are trained to order labs and imaging, prescribe medications, and perform minor surgery. All in all, naturopathic doctors are trained very similarly to conventional medical doctors.

  • While health coaches can be knowledgeable individuals that help their clients develop healthier habits, naturopathic doctors are not health coaches. Naturopathic doctors are trained as primary care providers that can diagnose, treat, and manage health conditions. Naturopathic doctors go through rigorous medical training, completing 301.5 credits over 4 years at an in-person accredited naturopathic medical school.

There is no title protection with health coaching. Meaning that anyone can call themselves a health coach, whether they have any credentials or not. Health coaches can obtain certifications through health coaching programs. Some programs are offered online and may take roughly 6 months to complete a total of 12 credits. Other programs are not transparent about their curriculum requirements. Again, health coaches can be a great resource, but the term health coach is not synonymous with the title naturopathic doctor.

  • We require a debit or credit card on file as a part of your appointment confirmation. You will not be charged until after your visit or if you do not adhere to our cancellation policy. If there are any issues with payment, you will be sent an invoice by email. The invoice must be paid before any labs are ordered or plan is written.

  • Virtual visits are conducted via our online secure video chat. No downloads are needed, just access to the internet. For an initial visit, the video chat link will be sent in your welcome email. For return visits, the video chat link will be sent in your appointment confirmation email. We ask that you use a device with a built in camera that can be used for video streaming or use a webcam that attaches directly to any device.

  • It is strongly recommended that you access the video chat link at least 10 minutes prior to your visit. If you run into any issues, please notify our office either by phone (814-299-4662) or email (admin@wholehealthnwc.com). We will then conduct the appointment over the phone. Our cancellation policy still applies if your software malfunctions.
